PD Dr. med. Christian Berg

Dr. Christian Berg is an internist with additional specialist qualifications in Endocrinology (hormone and metabolic disorders), Diabetology and Angiology (vascular medicine). With his high degree of specialization and multidisciplinary experience, he is able to offer expert advice to patients at Preventicum. Dr. Berg is also chief physician in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Evangelisches Krankenhaus in Mettmann.

Dr. Berg studied medicine at the University of Duisburg-Essen. After long years of research and clinical work, as well as specialist training at Essen University Hospital, he received his postdoctoral and teaching qualification in Internal Medicine in 2013, earning the title of Privat-Dozent (associate professor). He has been awarded multiple distinctions and grants in the course of his education and training in further specialized areas of medicine.

Dr. Berg specializes in hormonal imbalances of all kinds, in particular thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, hormone

deficiencies, endocrine-related obesity, malfunction of the adrenal and pituitary glands, menstrual disorders in women and testosterone deficiency in men, and growth hormone deficiency.

In the field of vascular medicine, he is a specialist in drug and interventional treatment of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) using the latest gentle methods (angioplasty and stenting), in targeted therapy for atherosclerosis, and in carotid artery stenosis and blockages, as well as being an expert in thrombosis and venous diseases.

Dr. Berg is the author of numerous publications and speaks regularly at national and international conferences. As an associate professor, he devotes himself to teaching the next generation of doctors at university. He also does volunteer work for the Hospice Foundation in Essen and is deputy chairman of the German Diabetes Society.
